ngrep strives to provide most of GNU grep's common features, applying them to the network layer. ngrep is a pcap-aware tool that will allow you to specify extended regular or hexadecimal expressions to match against data payloads of packets. It currently recognizes IPv4/6, TCP, UDP, ICMPv4/6, IGMP and Raw across Ethernet, PPP, SLIP, FDDI, Token Ring and null interfaces, and understands BPF filter logic in the same fashion as more common packet sniffing tools, such as tcpdump and snoop.

Knocker is a simple and easy to use TCP security port scanner written in C to analyze hosts and all of the different services started on them. It is available for Linux, FreeBSD, HP-UX, and Windows9x/2000/NT and it is licensed under the GNU General Public License GPL.

Dynksys Dynamic IP Updater is a Java-based application that will determine your network's external IP address and update it to a dynamic host name service such as dhs.org or DynDNS.org.  It includes a Java Swing GUI that lets you enter all the configuration information, and a Java runtime that can be installed to Windows as an NT Service or run from the command line.  The runtime checks your external IP address and determines if it's up to date.  If it's not it will update your external IP address to the dynamic host service.

Hardscan is a program that aims to identify what ports on your local machine are currently in use without trusting the operating system to report them properly.

tcping :: A win32 console version of tcping, to ping a host over a tcp port.

mturoute :: This is a windows executable that determines the path MTU between your machine and a specified host.

Scapy is a powerful interactive packet manipulation program. It is able to forge or decode packets of a wide number of protocols, send them on the wire, capture them, match requests and replies, and much more. It can easily handle most classical tasks like scanning, tracerouting, probing, unit tests, attacks or network discovery (it can replace hping, 85% of nmap, arpspoof, arp-sk, arping, tcpdump, tethereal, p0f, etc.). It also performs very well at a lot of other specific tasks that most other tools can't handle, like sending invalid frames, injecting your own 802.11 frames, combining technics (VLAN hopping+ARP cache poisoning, VOIP decoding on WEP encrypted channel, ...), etc.
