MediaInfo supplies technical and tag information about your video or audio files. This is a free software (free of charge and free for access to source code)

CamStudio is able to record all screen and audio activity on your computer and create industry-standard AVI video files and using its built-in SWF Producer can turn those AVIs into lean, mean, bandwidth-friendly Streaming Flash videos (SWFs)

AviJoin is a small program that tries to provide all the functions of Peck's Power Join and some of the functions from VirtualDub. The interface is inspired from these two programs. I've also taken some code from VirtualDub. As it's main purpose is to join acquired clips from TV/VCR sources, it'll not have any support to change/mix/add audio tracks and it'll accept only AVI files that are already having an audio stream.

DubMan is a powerful, easy to use script generator for the video processing tools VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod and NanDub. VirtualDub is one of the most popular open-source video processing tools - available for free from http://www.virtualdub.org/.

Enc :: is able to encode, make a size prediction at a given quantizer and make a compressibility test with (almost) every codec.
As input an AviSynth file is required (the file doesn't have to contain "return" or "end" in order to make compressibility test or size prediction). It's structured in a way that make it work with every codec without the need to be modified.
You can also put multiple jobs in the joblist and save/restore both settings and joblist.
Needs VirtualDub for working (the latest VirtualDubMod version is strictly required if you are going to use size prediction or compressibility test).

VirtualDubMod is based on the famous video editing software VirtualDub by Avery Lee. Born as a unification of several existing modifications, a lot of new features have been added, including support for the matroska container format.

VLC :: the cross-platform media player and streaming server
